TECHNIQUES IN TRANSLATING ENGLISH ABSTRACTS INTO INDONESIAN: CONTENT ANALYSIS OF THE TRANSLATED TEXT OF STUDENTS AT ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF KHAIRUN UNIVERSITY

The objetive of the research is to know the students‟ techniques in
translating abstract from English into Indonesian at the English Language
Education Study Program of Khairun University. The research used content
analysis to explore students‟ problem in translating English abstract into
Indonesian at English Language Education Study Program of Khairun University.
The result of this research was found From the table of percentage above showed
that most translators use borrowing technique in translate English abstract into
Indonesian this can be seen that Borrowing technique obtained score (5.32%),
then the second technique used by the translator is Equivalence technique which
obtained score (1.68%), the third technique of translation used by the translators is
Literal technique translation witch obtained score (1.33%), the fourth technique
translation use is Modulation technique which obtained score (1.26%), and the
fifth and the sixth are Calque technique of translation which obtained score
(0.42%), and Adaptation technique translation which obtained score (0.07%)
