ANALYSIS OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL VALUES IN “DEAR NATHAN THANK YOU SALMA” MOVIE BY KUNTZ AGUS 2022

This research aims to determine the educational values and social values
contained in the film Dear Nathan Thank You Salma by Kuntz Agus 2022. This
research uses descriptive qualitative methods to explain and describe each value
contained in the film. The subject of this research is the film Dear Nathan Thank
You Salma by Kuntz Agus 2022. The researcher collects data by watching films,
reading the novel Dear Nathan Thank You Salma, articles, interviews, and
documentation. Based on the research above, the researcher found 7 educational
values namely; honesty, religion, hard work, friendliness/communication,
responsibility, risk-taking, and patience. However, the dominant educational
values in this film are honesty and hard work. Then from this analysis, the
researcher also found 9 social values in the film Dear Nathan Thank You Salma,
namely; mutual help, cooperation, gratitude, kinship, sense of belonging,
obligation, empathy, justice, and tolerance. However, the dominant social value in
this film is mutual help Then the most dominant educational value is honesty and
hard work, and the most dominant social value is helping.
