IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING IN TEACHING PARAGRAPH WRITING AND STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION AT ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF KHAIRUN UNIVERSITY

The purpose of this study is to determine the used of project based learning
model in paragraph writing classroom and find out students' perception of the
implementation of project based learning model. This research was conducted
second semester students of English Language Education Study Program of
Khairun University. The subject of this study are 30 students who studied
paragraph writing and a lecturer who teach the class paragraph writing. This
research used the qualitative method. Researcher used observation, questionnaire,
and interview to obtain data from the research subjects. The data obtained were
analyzed using content analysis and likert scale. The results of this study observed
that the lecturer implemented of a project based learning model. It is in
accordance with the steps of project based learning model. Based on questionnaire
and interview data show that students’ perception about the implementation of
project based learning model in paragraph writing classroom can assist students'
in writing activities such as skills to analyzed, collaborate, communicate, and
critical thinking in writing paragraph.
