LANGUAGE SHIFT OF GAMKONORA AMONG TEENAGERS “IN SOUTH IBU REGENCY” (SOCIOLINGUISTIC ANALYSIS)

Faculty of cultural Science khairun University.
This study aims to describe how the Gamkonora language shift
occurs among Teenagers in Gamsungi village, especially in the south ibu
sub district, to analyze the factors causing the Gamkonora language shift.
This study uses a sociolinguistic approach that explains the
Gamkonora language shift and the causes of the Gamkonora language
shift in Gamsungi village. Researchers also use qualitative descriptive
methods in order to explain and analyze how language shifts occur with
several factors in everyday life.
The results of this study indicate that there are several factors that
influence the Gamkonora language shift which includes social, economic
and environmental factors. Gamkonora language shift which includes
family, friends, and social media. Of the several factors that occur among
teenagers that affect the shift in the Gamkonora language, the most
influential are environmental factors.
