THE ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL AT SMA NEGERI 4 TERNATE

This study aims to determine the speaking ability of students who focus on grammar
at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Ternate. Researchers used a descriptive qualitative method
with a questionnaire. For data collection based on essay choice tests. The sample of
this research was students of class XI IPA 1, which consisted of 29 students. The
findings of the researchers showed that after being given treatment, their mastery,
grammar increased significantly after being given treatment. This is evidenced by
the results of studies that show this. The researcher found that, First, 25 respondents
out of 29 people involved in the research were good at placing sentences correctly,
secondly, 4 respondents out of 29 respondents still needed improvement. Based on
the observed data, research found that students were more active in the learning
process.
